Astrological Magic with Christopher Warnock • Episode 41 • Free •
Christopher Warnock is known as “the father of the traditional astrological magic revival” and the “elder statesman” of astrological magic.” In addition to his teaching and writing, he creates energetically potent talismans using precise election times based on the movements of the constellations, following the wisdom of the Picatrix, a tenth-century Arabic text on astrological magic. With John Michael Greer, Christopher translated the Latin text to English in 2010. Two of his astrological talismans now reside in the British Museum as part of their permanent collection. In addition, Christopher has been initiated in two Japanese Buddhist lineages as well as the Soto Zen lineage of Dainin Katagiri.
The magicians of the ancient world were scholars and philosophers and they understood the inner workings of Nature. In this fascinating interview Christopher brings his great wealth of knowledge to the table, beginning with the prevailing modern world view of “atheistic materialism” as opposed to traditional magic and astrology, which have a spiritual basis. He touches on horary astrology, which is ancient. Horary involves answering a querent’s question at the current time and place the question was asked. A chart is created and the practitioner then makes their determination. Chris has done a few thousand of these over the years and has created a course on his site for those interested. He also discusses traditional astrology and chart reading, and of course covers talismans in great detail. I plan to study under him this fall, as he is one of the foremost experts on Renaissance astrological magic and he is a superb teacher.

Jason Grechanik: A Deep Dive into Dieting Plants • Episode 39 • Free •
Jason Grechanik has apprenticed for many years in the Amazon under the instruction of traditional teachers that include maestro Ernesto Garcia Torres. There, he learned the sacred art of plant dieting through his apprenticeship training that included prolonged isolation, and fasting. He was given the blessing to work as Tabaquero until eventually he was given the ability to dispense diets. Bernhard is an occultist, animist, storyteller, and founder of Magieschule / Magic School, founded in 2018, where he teaches magic in online courses and live seminars. Bernhard is all about the training of the imagination, the inner realm, to affect the outer realm. Chandni Rodriguez was introduced to me by dear friends and our connection was immediate. In this episode Chandni shares her wealth of wisdom on the subject of yoga. A Stirring Interpretation of The Tree of Knowledge Biblical Story • Episode 30 • Free •
I recently discovered the work of Alvin Boyd Kuhn, who was a writer, philosopher and esotericist who authored over 150 books, essays and published papers. With his years of dedicated study of symbolism, Theosophy, and the wisdom of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians, he has written a number of unique and profound essays on his interpretations of common bible stories that are unlike anything I have ever read. His essay on the Tree of Knowledge, the story of Adam and Eve, is one of the most healing pieces of writing I have ever experienced on this topic, as it takes the literal surface story and exposes the extraordinary symbolism within it that speaks to deep and profound principles of Truth on the nature of the soul. Having grown up Catholic and been unmoved by the catechism and the church experience, I can’t help but wonder how I would have responded if I’d been availed of this sublime wisdom.
As I realize that many people prefer to listen than read, I begin the first hour with some of my thoughts and then read 2/3’s of Kuhn’s essay, and I think many of you will find his meaningful interpretations of the tree and its leaves, among other elements to be very stirring. The second hour completes his essay, and wait till you hear his interpretation of Eve! Kuhn’s sagacious insights and depth of knowledge shatter the purblindness of the conventional interpreters and open the gates of knowledge, wisdom and understanding to the intrepid reader.

I first heard from Aaron Donne early last year when he contacted me and we’ve since had some very deep conversations on the power of the mushroom to heal, and what it means to make that experience available for others. I was struck by his maturity, knowledge and depth of wisdom so of course I asked him if he would be amenable to being interviewed, and lucky for all of us, he agreed. In the first hour Aaron tells how he came to work with the mushroom, sharing a poignant and touching story of an epiphany he experienced while in military school. I had the pleasure of meeting Rak Razam over ten years ago when he interviewed me for his podcast, In A Perfect World. I was taken by his warmth and generous spirit and impressed with his accomplishments in journalism, filmmaking, public speaking, and his intrepid spirit in exploring the psychedelic world. He speaks to the importance of cultivating a relationship with nature to where it is actually felt rather than simply mediated through technology, comparing the modern mindset to that of the traditional healers found in intact indigenous communities. I am honored to introduce you to Richie Ogulnick, who has dedicated his life to helping people heal with Ibogaine. I love working with dreams as they reveal so much if we can decipher the symbolism and intuit their messages. Nature and the deep psyche – which is nature – speak in symbol, and a psychedelic mushroom journey is no different. Over the years I’ve helped people interpret and integrate their psychedelic journeys including the “bad trips.” You can’t predict how a journey will go but there is much that can be done to make sure you are safe and comfortable and well-tended. If and when a mushroom journey goes sideways there are many things you can do to recover and begin the process of understanding just what the hell happened.
In the first hour I offer advice on how to prepare for a journey to ensure that even if the journey goes dark we are as safe as we can possibly be. I share a couple of stories of particularly difficult experiences and how I worked with that client to interpret the event. My approach is to key into the symbolic nature of the experience and it is my hope that those interested will have an avenue to better understand their own challenging journey and/or the journeys of others.
Hour 2 begins by delving into a nightmare shared by my late teacher, Dr Brugh Joy, MD, and explores his approach to dream interpretation, which can be used to make sense of a bad or a pleasant journey. I then discuss what to do after a bad trip and I also touch on spirit possession. With psilocybin mushrooms getting so much good press these days there are more people than ever who are availing themselves. It is essential to be as prepared as possible and have all the tools we need to get through it and learn from the experience.
