Earlier this year I began researching Iodine in earnest, and discovered it is the capstone to actual health and mental acuity. In the last 70 years we have been made to fear this essential nutrient that has a documented historical resume of reversing conditions like goiter, cysts, tumors, mental retardation and much more. As a result of misconceptions, the vast majority of us are iodine-deficient, which leads to a number of conditions linked to iodine deficiency such as fibrocystic breast disease, thyroid diseases, ADHD, cancer of the thyroid, breast, ovary, prostate, endometrium, and more.

In the first hour I will explore the medical use of iodine that traces back thousands of years, and its efficacy for healing conditions that plague many people today, and I’ll share what happened in 1948 that steered three generations of doctors away from this important nutrient. You’ll learn about toxic Halides and how they undermine our Iodine levels, and I’ll discuss the Iodine protocol created by Dr Guy Abraham, M.D.

The second hour covers which iodine works best, how to take it, what to do for children, pregnancy, breast cancer, thyroid disorders, ADHD, and more. This has been a very illuminating and uplifting area of research for me and I am excited to share this treasure-trove of information with you.

Lakshmi Narayan has been a decades-long student of the I Ching, the oldest known oracular system that hails from ancient China. It is a system that confers timeless wisdom, and it is as relevant today as it was when it was created. In her effort to support those on a path of healing after an ibogaine journey, (or any other psychedelic) Lakshmi has made available a superb mentorship program titled, Change Your Character. The course consists of nine hexagrams that serve as “a framework and philosophy for change and right-action, and as a way to ground the transformations initiated in the altered state into a new way of being in the world.” The course is a tremendous assist for anyone seeking to develop themselves, whether they work with psychedelics or not, they will gain a deeper understanding of the I Ching.

In addition, Lakshmi is the Creative Director of Awake Media, and President and co-Founder of Awake.net, a social network for the entheogenic community. She is also the creator of the FEAT program, (the Fund for Entheogenic Addiction Treatment) whose mission is to end addiction through ibogaine treatment, and she is producing a film, Iboga Saves that will document the psycho-spiritual healing journey of people going through iboga/ibogaine initiations.

In this episode Lakshmi discusses the I Ching’s extraordinary ability to speak directly to an issue and deliver pertinent counsel to the querent. In the second hour I ask the I Ching a question on how to navigate this time of intense challenge, and its answer is beautifully astute and profound. With Lakshmi’s years of study and understanding, she further elucidates the I Ching’s message, making for a powerfully instructive listen. I am honored to share the wisdom of this very special woman who is steadfastly working to bring healing and spiritual awakening to our world.

The medicinal mushroom market is rife with fraudulently advertised products that contain little medicinal value due to certain growing methods and poor sourcing. Those dealing with cancer and other illnesses who are seeking to avail themselves of the many healing constituents these mushrooms contain are often deprived of receiving the extraordinary benefits found in properly sourced fungi. Enter Garrett Kopp, a learned and dedicated steward of the Adirondack forests in northern New York State whose heartfelt connection to that precious land enables him to hear what he calls, “the whisper in the wind.” He is a voice for Chaga sustainability and he speaks to the importance of sourcing wild-harvested medicinal mushrooms for their forest-given potency.
.
Birch Boys was launched by Garrett shortly after his 16th birthday. Today, Birch Boys offers teas, powders and tinctures of wild-harvested Chaga, Artist’s Conk, Reishi, Turkey Tail, and other medicinal fungi that can be trusted to deliver the goods. In the first hour Garrett talks about his introduction to Chaga at the age of 15 by his grandmother, whose spirit continues to support his efforts. He discusses the dynamic relationship between medicinal mushrooms and trees and why this makes forest-grown mushrooms far more medicinally potent than those grown on grain or sawdust in plastic bags. Garrett is also an ecologist and he shares on the issues we are facing regarding the eradication of yellow birch trees (Betula Alleghaniensis) on which Chaga is found. He also discusses the lesser known Artist’s Conk, making an illuminating comparison to Reishi, (Ganoderma Lucidum), its Chinese cousin.
The second hour focuses on Amanita Muscaria, the well recognized red and white-capped mushroom. I was eager to hear Garrett share his knowledge and experience there and he did not disappoint. He also touched on the absolute importance of knowing your mushrooms when wild-crafting, mushrooms that are the most pharmacologically active, anecdotal stories of beneficial effects, and more.
.
Garrett is a national treasure and I think you will very much appreciate what he shares in this episode.

This next episode highlights one of Nature’s most extraordinary gifts to this world – medicinal mushrooms. I’ve taken them in dual extract form for years and have always known they are medicinal but doing the deeper research has blown my mind.
.
In hours 1 and 2 I will share with you the most wondrous benefits of a number of medicinal mushrooms and in hour 2 I’ll discuss spagyrics, tincturing and more. Nature has a cure and a solution for everything and by the way, so does our body, which is earth – if we avail ourselves of what nature offers. That includes aligning with her cycles. She is both a kindly and fierce mother, teacher and mentor.

For those who are fascinated with Runes I have a special guest for you. I met Tina Kemp through the Women of Wisdom conference where she and I had a discussion on magic and I was so impressed with her wealth of knowledge on the subject.
.
In hour 1, Tina discusses the runes, how she came to work with them and what they symbolize. Listening to her I feel like I am sitting with a wise woman from an earlier century, she is steeped in occult lore and practices.
.
The second hour explores the subject of magic and the personal responsibility that goes with its practices. Tina offers counsel for those new to its exploration and discusses synchronicity, local spirits and more. She is a treasure!
